Germany/Austria – Cutting Tool specialist Paul Horn used the opportunity of AMB, a home match for the Swabian company, to unveil a strategic innovation. Two independent carbide and tool manufacturers are about to embark on a joint sales cooperation for ISO turning and milling tools: Horn in Tübingen and Boehlerit in Kapfenberg (Styria, Austria). As part of this, Horn will be responsible for selling Boehlerit-branded ISO turning and milling tools in Germany, France, the UK, the USA and China.

Thread forming as an alternative method to thread cutting, although not new, remains a relatively unexploited resource that can offer significant benefits over traditional methods.

Mitsubishi Materials has expanded its range of turning tools to include a new series of grooving and parting-off tools, the GW series.

Melt Design Inc., a manufacturer and global supplier of high-performance hot runner systems with a broad range of associated components, has added to its product line a dual-stage plastic-melt-filtering device designed to remove contaminants from the melt flow during injection moulding. The innovative device eliminates the need to clean out mould gates and saves further hours of production that might otherwise have been lost to material contamination.
