CAD/CAM solutions provider Solidcam has enhanced the Solidcam Simulator by integrating Machine Works GPU into the recently released Solidcam 2026. By exploiting the high level of parallelism available in modern GPUs, Machine Works GPU is able to create an accurate in-process stock model in seconds, rather than in minutes or hours. This offers users the ability to quickly visualize and review all, or key portions of, large machining jobs without having to run the full simulation until the final setup has been checked and confirmed.

For the majority of machining operations Machine Works GPU computes intersections based on analytic equations, rather than tessellated representations of the swept geometry, providing both high levels of intersection point precision and multi-core scalability.
