Boride Engineered Abrasives has introduced its Ruby Dark Mold Polishing Stone, an aluminium oxide stone designed for applications requiring durability, controlled cutting and a consistent surface finish. The Ruby Dark features a higher chromium content, resulting in a tougher, less friable crystal structure. Its blockier grain shape resists breaking down under pressure, helping the stone maintain its form and cutting characteristics for longer and extending its usable life.

With a slower, less aggressive cutting action, Ruby Dark provides greater control during polishing. The abrasive grains do not break down as quickly or expose new cutting edges as frequently, making the stone well suited to precision applications where controlled material removal and surface consistency are important.

The stone can produce a smooth, uniform finish over extended polishing cycles and has been used in demanding applications, including removing pores and achieving a smooth surface following the steel blasting process.

Ruby Dark can be used by hand or with a profiler, with or without lubricant, providing flexibility for a variety of mould polishing applications.
