Cutting tool manufacturer Tungaloy Corporation has received two awards from the Japan Cutting & Wear-Resistant Tool Association (JTA): the 2026 Environmental Special Award for ongoing improvements in CO₂ emissions intensity and waste reduction and the 2026 Technical Achievement Award for its Deeptri-Drill indexable gun drilling system.

Tungaloy has received Technical Achievement Awards for four consecutive years and environmental recognition for three consecutive years. The awards relate to technological development, productivity, resource efficiency and environmental performance, aligning with the company’s stated philosophy that “Sustainability is Engineered.”

The 2026 Environmental Special Award recognizes Tungaloy's consistent reductions in CO₂ emissions intensity per unit of production and total waste generation over multiple years. Following Environmental Grand Prize awards in 2024 and 2025, this is the third consecutive year JTA has recognized Tungaloy's environmental initiatives.

The 2026 Technical Achievement Award recognizes Deeptri-Drill, an indexable gun drilling system with a minimum drill diameter of Ø8 mm. Developed to overcome the challenges of small-diameter deep-hole drilling, it incorporates three proprietary technologies for stable, high-efficiency machining. Its indexable design offers an alternative to conventional brazed gun drills, improving productivity and process reliability while supporting more efficient carbide utilization.
