Israel — 3D-printing company Stratasys, announced its commitment to the Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association. The non-commercial organisation seeks to advance sustainability efforts in the 3D printing industry.

When long-established cutting tool manufacturer AA Tools was acquired by new owners in 2014, the objective was to modernise the shop floor equipment with the very latest CNC machine tool technology. For the bespoke cutting tool manufacturer, the acquisition trail included a CNC tool and cutter grinder, a 4th-axis machining centre, a live tooling turning centre, an EDM drilling machine and a Mitsubishi MV1200R wire EDM machine from the Engineering Technology Group (ETG).

Sweden — Known for their hard, 3D printed metals, Swedish materials development company VBN Components has been registering an increasing demand for their products. The company therefore moved to larger premises that are to provide increased capacities.

Italian machinery company Breton, announced the development of the first 3D printer that integrates Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The “Genesis” 3D printer is designed the large-scale production of thermoplastic materials and can combine additive and subtractive methods.

Birmingham-based company Robo Challenge bring robots such as fighting bots to live in popular TV shows. In the entertainment industry, it's not only important to impress the audience but also to meet strict deadlines. To be able to come up with even more impressive innovations, and meet these demands, the company recently invested in a Quasar Machining centre.

With the Tomo Scope XS FOV 500 from Werth Messtechnik, high-performance computed tomography is now available at the price of conventional 3D coordinate measuring machines.

Italy — In the mid-90s CRP Technology set out to be the first industrial company in Italy to use 3D printing processes. Since then, the family-run company has been making its mark with the development of high-performance 3D printing materials for demanding applications.

Italy — Bologna based company Vetimec supplies the international automotive industry and foundries with moulds, including injection moulds. Since die-sinking EDM dominates the production of these moulds, efficiency depends on the production of the graphite electrodes. With the changeover to special milling tools from Hufschmied, Vetimec can now machine graphite 30 percent faster and 20 percent more economically.

USA — Titanium has been a challenging material for bound metal 3D printing because it is both extremely reactive in powder form and difficult to sinter. Desktop Metal has now qualified Titanium for manufacturing with the Studio System 2, becoming the first company to commercialise the material for additive manufacturing.

Germany — At EMO metalworking exhibition being held from 4 to 9 October 2021 in Milan, Italy, Open Mind will present its Version 2021.2, the most recent release of the Hypermill CAD/CAM suite.
