After the German edition in Hanover, EMO, the world exhibition dedicated to the metalworking sector, will return to Italy in 2027. The event will be organised by Ucimu–Sistemi Per Produrre, the association of Italian manufacturers of machine tools, robots, and automation systems. EMO Milano 2027 will take place at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre from 4 to 8 October 2027.

As per tradition, the announcement was made during a press conference organised by Ucimu–Sistemi Per Produrre at EMO Hannover.

Promoted by Cecimo, the European Association of Manufacturing Technologies, and organised by EFIM–Ente Fiere Italiane Macchine, the event alternates between Hanover and Milan and will therefore return to Italy after six years.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, EMO Milano 2021 attracted around 60,000 visitors from countries that allowed international travel, confirming the strong appeal of both the exhibition and the city of Milan — one of Europe’s most accessible and well-connected destinations. The 2015 edition had previously set all-time records in terms of exhibitors, visitors, and exhibition space.

The upcoming edition is expected to be rich in content and opportunities for industry professionals. Under the slogan “A Journey to the Centre of Innovation,” EMO Milano 2027 will showcase the full spectrum of global metalworking technologies: metal cutting and forming machine tools, robots, automation systems, additive manufacturing, digital solutions, and artificial intelligence. These are key enablers of sustainable industrial development, a theme that will be prominently featured at the fair.

Given the expected industrial growth and Milan’s continued attractiveness as a destination, EMO Milano 2027 is anticipated to be a sold-out event. To accommodate demand, organisers have reserved all 12 exhibition halls of Fiera Milano. Beginning in September 2025, a dedicated hospitality service will be available to assist exhibitors and visitors with hotel bookings in Milan and surrounding areas.

Thanks to an agreement with Mico DMC, the official partner for accommodation services, participants can access the booking platform directly via emo-milan.com, ensuring early access to suitable options by location and price range.
