GF Machining Solutions Three locations come together in Biel, now Division HQ and more

Switzerland – GF Machining Solutions recently celebrated the inaugurated of its new innovation and production centre in Biel, Switzerland, with more than 300 guests.
The sites in Nidau, Ipsach and Luterbach will now be housed in the new GF Machining Solutions headquarters in Biel, Switzerland, over an area of 44,000 sq.m.
GF Machining Solutions, a division of GF, recently inaugurated its new innovation and production centre in Biel, Switzerland. The new building, which took two years for completion, is an investment of about CHF 100 million, providing room for around 450 employees, the company says.
The inauguration was celebrated with some 300 guests including the President of the canton Bern and Governor of Economic Affairs, Christoph Ammann, and Biel Mayor Erich Fehr, representatives from the politics and business as well as numerous GF's worldwide customers.
Ammann said in his speech: “The new building is an important milestone for the canton, the region and the city of Biel.”
Fehr thanked GF for its investment, noting that it will sustainably strengthen the city of Biel.
GF CEO Andreas Müller underlined: “Swiss-made is more than the confirmation of a certain origin. Nowadays, it is a global brand which stands for quality and reliability.”
Pascal Boillat, president of GF Machining Solutions, added :“From this new location, we will be able to strengthen our position as a global player and at the same time rely on our Swiss roots.”

The company explained that the three GF Machining Solutions' sites in Nidau, Ipsach and Luterbach, all in Switzerland, will now be housed in Biel, bringing its entire Swiss milling machine and laser production together, which covers an area of 44,000 sq.m.
The new building, which is also the division's headquarters, will provide room for production and assembly over a space of more than 13,000 sq.m. It will also house a research and development centre as well as a modern-application centre. As such, customers will be able to experience the division's broad portfolio first-hand and attend training courses on-site. Employees will also benefit from bright, spacious project rooms that foster creative and interdisciplinary collaboration, GF added.
GF Machining Solutions provides machine tools, automation solutions and customer services for the production of moulds, dies and high value-added metal parts. The division has manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, Sweden, China and the U.S., and has customers in more than 50 countries.
