Company News Slight decline in sales — more active customers
Meusburger reports a slight decline in sales compared to 2019. On the other hand, the number of active customers developed positively with an increase to over 22,500.
The internationally active company Meusburger, a leading manufacturer of high-quality products for tool, mould and machine construction, reported sales of around 291 million euros for the past year, which represents a slight decline of 5.5 %. “There are two main factors responsible for this: the difficult order situation in the automotive industry and the cooling of the economy, especially in Germany,” informs owner and managing director Guntram Meusburger.
Increase in buying customers
The company remains convinced of the long-term success of its strategic orientation. For this reason, investments will continue to be made in the areas of sales, logistics, production and the range of services on offer. For example, the automated small parts warehouse will be expanded by 50 % in the course of 2020, creating sufficient space for planned additions to the product range. In addition, the company is deliberately investing further in the current year in structures, software and additional equipment with which the products can be manufactured reliably and at a high quality level.
With the purchase of a plot of land in Hohenems, on which a new office building is being constructed as a first step, provisions for the future were made at an early stage. In addition, the hot runner and control technology specialist PSG, acquired in 2016, was fully integrated into the company. As a result, the extensive know-how can be bundled and further developed even better under a corporate brand Meusburger.
Business also developed positively for Meusburger last year in the global subsidiaries in China, Mexico, Turkey, India and the USA. Thanks to the great dedication of the teams on site, globalisation was able to be further advanced. Based on these positive developments, Meusburger has set itself the goal of gaining further market shares and strengthening its worldwide presence in 2020.
