Looking at the impressive client base of Lefo, which includes, among others, Bosch, B-Braun, Gardena, Hilti, Schäfler, Siemens and Fein, this decision seemed logical, since quality is essential to Lefo. “We do not compete with Chinese suppliers of cheap products. Our moulds feature an average to very high complexity,“ adds Kieninger, and to illustrate his point, he presents a small electric motor-rotor, which is manufactured for Brose.

The metal parts are insert-moulded with a Lefo mould. This small injection-moulding miracle is used in the BMW i3. Moulds of the Stockach-based company are also used in industrial mass production: “Multi-component technology is one of our specialties. We also supply to Gardena, for example. Their technical and optical requirements are very sophisticated. Up to 20 million parts are manufactured for garden tools using one of our moulds,” reckons the managing director.

Lefo Formenbau considers itself well-equipped for the future with its new machines from GFMS. Kieninger looks ahead: “We want to turn Lefo into a full-service provider, one that can cover everything from the initial idea right up to the product series. The Champions League is definitely within our reach.”
