Internationality as an important cornerstone

When getting in touch with international professionals, associations are of great help. That does not only include national organisations, but also, for example, ISTMA world and ISTMA Europe. "The Moulding Expo's success is due to many people. Following the great commitment from our partners in Germany – the MF, VDMA, VDW and VDWF, for instance, – close co-operation with ISTMA also gave our prospects a big boost. A total of 19 associations and more than 8,000 companies from across the world are organised within this global association. We presented Moulding Expo at the most important European toolmaking clusters and were able to inspire many national associations and their member companies," explains Kromer von Baerle.

Scholarship for an advanced training course

Structural change is a constant challenge for manufacturers of tools, patterns and moulds. Thanks to its innovative dynamism, the industry is producing more and more new products using increasingly more complex technologies. Continuous advanced training is an obligation for technicians and engineers in order to keep up with the permanently increasing demands. During Moulding Expo from 30 May to 2 June 2017, Messe Stuttgart will not only provide an extensive overview of teaching and study programmes, it will also be directly involved in advanced training of young people in the industry.

This takes the form of a unique offer: Landesmesse Stuttgart is awarding a continuous scholarship for an in-service advanced training course as a Project Manager (FH) for Tool Construction and Mould Making. Effective from the 2017/2018 winter semester, one student each will receive advanced training in the corresponding cycle for two semesters at Schmalkalden University. Messe Stuttgart will pay the costs, amounting to around €5,000.

VDWF, the German Association of Tool and Mould Makers, will be present as well with an extraordinarily huge booth: "At almost 1,000 m² of exhibition area and with 77 exhibitors, this joint booth is the strongest presence we ever had at a trade fair. It was never in doubt that we would celebrate our 25th anniversary on Wednesday, 31 May, at Moulding Expo," explained Ralf Dürrwächter, managing director of VDWF.

The world association ISTMA will also be present at MEX. According to the organisers, a total of 19 associations and more than 8,000 companies from across the world are organised within the association. "Our exhibitors come from more than 30 countries. And awareness of the Moulding Expo fair has spread even further – which is not least due to the strong partnership with ISTMA. The association has recognised Moulding Expo as the most important meeting place for the tool construction, pattern and mould making industry in Europe. That's a great compliment to our abilities and a reward for our dedication," comments Kromer von Baerle.
