In modern stamping dies, decisive factors for secure and economically efficient production processes are compact design, high load capacity and reliable motion transmission. At the same time, limited installation space presents designers with the challenge of implementing motion sequences precisely without compromising on the service life or process reliability of the die. With the compact slide 1:1 E 6100 Meusburger offers a solution that has been developed to meet these challenges and combines efficient force transmission with a compact design.

The challenge of shear forces in die making

In conventional slide solutions, the forces applied are often transmitted directly via the guiding system. The resulting shear forces place additional stress on the guiding elements and can lead to increased wear and a loss of precision in movement. To compensate for these stresses, complex guiding concepts and additional installation space are often required.

Especially for compact die designs or complex installation situations this makes the design process very difficult.

Intelligent force transmission for compact designs

Developed for stamping applications, the E 6100 uses V-shaped force application to reduce shear forces acting on the guiding elements. Its 1:1 motion ratio means that 1 mm of vertical movement produces 1 mm of horizontal movement.

Force is applied exclusively to the lower part of the slide, which, according to Meusburger, reduces the load on the die. An integrated spring supports the mechanical return.

Limiting wear

The slide combines this force transmission design with a DLC coating to limit wear. According to the manufacturer, the reduced loads on the guiding elements and the coating can help extend service life and reduce maintenance requirements.

Different installation options allow designers to accommodate the slide within existing die layouts, including applications where space is restricted.
