Materials company Envalior showcased it material toolkit for data center technology suppliers at Fakuma 202.. At its booth, visitors discovered material solutions for power distribution, cooling systems, and switchgear that enable suppliers to meet the increasing performance, efficiency, and reliability demands of AI data centers.

As AI workloads increase power density and operating temperatures, data center infrastructure must safely manage higher voltages, greater thermal loads, and more stringent reliability requirements. Components throughout power paths and cooling systems are becoming critical to maintaining uptime and protecting increasingly valuable computing equipment, enabling a robust ‘reliability backbone’ for data centers.

Envalior’s targeted material toolkit is designed to help ensure continuous operation and minimize risk of valuable equipment damage. In addition, through its 360 Innovation Services offering, it delivers full-spectrum support to enable more strategic material choices, providing direct access to the company’s experts so customers can benefit from its decades of application-, material-, design- and processing know-how.

“The rising demands of data centers call for a new generation of materials offering greater tracking resistance, heat resistance, and dimensional stability at high temperatures. When looking at the impact of changes, such as the shift to 800V DC power infrastructure, the effects across the system mean specialized solutions are required to match the mechanical, thermal, and electrical profile in each case. Elements such as connectors, fan components, and switchgear therefore become a core part of the data center’s ‘reliability backbone’,” says Martin Burg, Advanced Development Expert at Envalior.

Envalior’s data centre applications on display at Fakuma 2026 included engineering plastics for power connectors, switchgear and cooling systems, supporting the transition towards 800 V DC architectures. Materials include PA66, PBT, PPS and PPA for connectors; Stanyl PA46 for arc chambers requiring arc-quenching performance and a heat deflection temperature of 290 °C; and ForTii PPA for injection-moulded switchgear enclosures. PPS and PA46 also support heat-resistant fans, thin stator insulation and liquid cooling components, where dimensional stability, corrosion resistance and low ion leaching are key requirements. Envalior’s 360 Innovation Services complement the materials portfolio with support from initial design to production optimisation, combining materials expertise, testing, simulation, AI-powered tools and sustainability consulting.

“The unique material challenges of the data center era require a whole-system approach, taking into account the role that each material and component plays in meeting the overall application needs. Meanwhile, the rapid growth in this space means that production scalability is also a key consideration. Envalior is helping to design components in a way that facilitates rapid and reliable manufacturing. Given the global value chains related to data centers, our specialized material toolkit combined with our localized production and R&D footprint allows customers to achieve the right material properties and supply chain for each component to optimize lifetime reliability,” says John Hsieh, Segment Innovation Manager Electronics at Envalior.
