In a technology transfer agreement, Wohlhaupter is taking over the Komflex automatic fine boring head from Ceratizit, folding the wear-compensation solution into its own digital precision tool lineup and assuming future development, support and marketing for existing customers.

Tool manufacturer Wohlhaupter is acquiring the Komflex technology from Ceratizit as part of a technology transfer. Going forward, Wohlhaupter will further develop the Komflex solution, integrate it into its own product portfolio, and assume future support and marketing for existing customers. Official product availability through Wohlhaupter is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2026. The new product will be unveiled to the public at the AMB trade show in Stuttgart and the IMTS trade show in Chicago.

Komflex is an automatically adjustable fine boring head designed to compensate for cutting edge wear with high precision. The technology supports reliable, stable fine boring operations and complements Wohlhaupter’s existing range of digital fine boring tools. Thanks to the shared Blum wireless technology, integrating Komflex into the machine is particularly simple and cost efficient, the company states.

The acquisition marks a further step in Wohlhaupter's push to strengthen its position in digital precision tools for hole-making operations. As part of the technology handover, Ceratizit is streamlining its product portfolio and will turn to Wohlhaupter solutions for relevant applications going forward.

Wohlhaupter will continue to draw on sensor and electronics technology from Blum-Novotest, cooperating with the renowned manufacturer of high-precision measuring and testing technology on system installations worldwide.

With Wohlhaupter, we see this technology in experienced hands,” says Michael Horn, Global Segments Management Director, Ceratizit Cutting Tools.

For Ceratizit customers, the current support provided by Ceratizit had ended on May 31, 2026. Due to the technology transfer and the relocation of service assets, product availability will be paused thereafter and will resume under Wohlhaupter on September 14, 2026.
