USA — In collaboration with Jabil, 3D Systems has developed the novel industrial 3D printing platform High Speed Fusion (HSF). The fused filament printer is said to be three times faster than standard systems — which the company intends to prove from 2022.

Rapid Tech + Fab Con 3D is becoming Rapid Tech 3D. The trade fair for additive technologies will take place from 5 to 7 May this year under the new name.

Provider of laser scanning solutions, Scanlab, launches a new scan system. The Scancube IV, as the primary representative of this product range, features optional read-back functions, thereby providing an essential process monitoring component.

USA — 3D printing specialist Ex One announced that aluminium alloy 6061 is now a Customer-Qualified material in collaboration with Ford Motor.

Sweden — VBN, known for its innovations in 3D printed metal, has now completed its latest funding round. The company offers the hardest and most wear-resistant alloys on the world market, also known as “the world's hardest steel” and “the world's only 3D printed cemented carbide”.

Germany — Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik and Reichenbacher Hamuel have concluded a comprehensive partnership in the field of additive manufacturing. In a first step, the two Franconian technology companies are merging 3D printing and milling in one system.

The Fraunhofer Additive Manufacturing Competence Center is hosting a forum at the Rapid Tech 3D trade congress on 22 June 2021. There will be presentations of six research results for industrial 3D printing.

Germany — Scientists from Hanover and Aachen developed an app for automatic monitoring of print quality in Additive Manufacturing. To this end, the researchers want to equip an industrial 3D printer with sensor technology to seamlessly monitor the printing process.
