Metal 3D Printing Swedish materials development company VBN Components on a growth course
Sweden — Known for their hard, 3D printed metals, Swedish materials development company VBN Components has been registering an increasing demand for their products. The company therefore moved to larger premises that are to provide increased capacities.
The high carbide content and wear resistance of its alloys is a distinguishing feature of VBN Components. In recent years, new customers and increased demand for products have made the company outgrow its old premises. The company has therefore moved to three times larger premises than before and can now increase production capacity. According to Johan Bäckström, CEO of VBN, the new premises are adapted to the continued expansion and enable a good production flow. The manufacturer also aims for shorter delivery times with the additional capacities. The products are manufactured directly from powder through 3D printing. In 2017 VBN launched the world’s hardest steel and in 2018 the world’s first 3D printed cemented carbide.
