Matters Group has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the Polish company Letbek., which will become an integrated part of the Group. The transaction is completed at the end of June. Letbek is a Polish manufacturing company founded in 2018 with approximately 55 employees.

“Letbek is a company we know well – its business, organisation and market. The acquisition gives us the opportunity to realise significant synergies across production, procurement and development, while also creating a foundation for new business initiatives,” says Michael Bayer Thomsen, CEO of Matters Group.

Letbek has a well-established production platform and specialises in plastic- and polyurethane-based components. It manufactures both technical components and design products, particularly for the high-end furniture industry and the agricultural segment.

The company has capabilities within PUR moulding, injection moulding, as well as post-processing and assembly, which complement Matters Group’s existing activities. The combination of production in Poland and the Group’s Danish operations in Ribe is expected to create operational synergies, increased flexibility and a more resilient value chain.

In addition to traditional efficiency gains, the acquisition provides access to new product and customer areas, where Letbek’s production set-up and experience open opportunities that Matters Group has not previously had at the same scale – and vice versa.

Letbek will continue as the same legal entity, and operations will continue with local management and employees. Matters Group places great emphasis on continuity and long-term development – for employees, customers and business partners alike.

“Our ambition is not simply to grow, but to do so in a way that creates long-term value. With Letbek, we gain a strong platform in Poland that strengthens the entire Group,” Michael Bayer Thomsen concludes.

At the same time as the acquisition, Bjørn Bahnsen joins Matters Group as a co-owner with an ownership stake of 10%.

The company operates a modern production platform in Poland and supplies plastic- and polyurethane-based components to a broad range of industrial customers, including unique know-how within high-end furniture.

Matters Group is a Danish group headquartered in Ribe. The Group includes, among others, Lynddahl and Mutag, and works with the development and production of plastic solutions for handling water, liquids and gases.
