Gühring End mill is suitable for drilling, ramping, roughing, finishing
Germany – For users with constantly changing tool requirements and high demands on machining flexibility, Gühring has developed a new end mill that covers five operations with one tool: the RF 100 Diver can perform drilling, ramping, slotting, roughing and finishing operations, the supplier said.
Alongside its versatility the RF 100 is said to set new standards especially with steep ramping: The multi-functional end mill is capable of plunging at a ramping angle of 45°. Thanks to this technical feature, the RF 100 Diver achieves a seamless transition from slotting to drilling – and that’s in most materials as well, Gühring said. The steep plunging angle makes enormous material removal possible, the supplier added. The simultaneously good chip evacuation is said to result in higher process reliability. With drilling, the tool is claimed to display good characteristics up to 2xD.
