At AMB in Stuttgart, the precision tool manufacturer Simtek presented a new range of length-adjustable toolholders. These include the Simturn DX toolholders with a unique length adjustability and an innovative ME clamping principle, the Simturn PX carrier tool solution for internal machining, and the Simturn AX range for boring holes.

With the introduction of a new range of length-adjustable toolholders, Simtek offers a new solution that meets the requirements of modern manufacturing while increasing flexibility and cost efficiency. The specially developed and patented ME clamping principle ensures maximum stability and precision in machining.

These versatile Simturn DX toolholders offer an outstanding solution for internal machining. They are precisely and infinitely adjustable in length and, according to Simtek, particularly suitable for use in small-batch production. Thanks to their unique length adjustability, they can be flexibly adapted to the machining of a wide range of components. Available in sizes D07 (lengths from 20.0 mm - 55.0 mm), D10 (lengths from 31.0 mm to 87.5 mm) and D14 (lengths from 42.0 mm to 124.0 mm), these holders cover lengths from 20.0 mm to 124.0 mm. The innovative ME clamping principle from Simtek guarantees maximum stability and precision, so that they can be conveniently adapted to the respective requirements. “With the new clamping holders, we can significantly reduce the need for our users to purchase new tools at the beginning of a new component series,” emphasises Norbert Seifermann, CEO of Simtek.

In order to meet the specific requirements of internal machining even better, Simturn PX adjustable-length tool solutions are now available. These tools are particularly suitable for precise boring of holes from a diameter of Ø 10.5 mm and, with a three-edged tool system, offer an optimal combination of cost efficiency, stability and flexibility. “The ability to respond quickly and cost-effectively to new challenges in metal machining is becoming increasingly important. With the new length-adjustable tools, we can offer precisely this agility,” explains Norbert Seifermann.

The variably applicable tools from Simtek, which can be flexibly adjusted in length, offer a wide range of options in machining technology. Within the Simturn AX product group, the tool specialist from Mössingen is also launching a length-adjustable solution for boring holes from Ø 47 mm. Thanks to the ME clamping principle, the usable length of the cutting inserts can be continuously and precisely adapted to the respective requirements, which significantly increases efficiency and productivity in manufacturing.
