Germany - EDM technology and automation solution provider Zimmer & Kreim celebrated its 30th anniversary on 24 September 2015 with an open house at its HQ in Brensbach, Germany.

United States - DMG Mori has launched a direct-to-customer sales and service model in the US. The company said it will double its existing local service and sales centres to 27 locations across the country in close proximity to customers. Dr. Thorsten Schmidt will lead DMG Mori USA as CEO.

Germany - At the annual press conference of VDW, Dr Heinz-Jürgen Prokop, chairman of VDW, was optimistic about future trends in the German machine tool sector. Political insecurities in UK and US, however, dampen the enthusiasm at the beginning of the year.

The Italian machine tool market has seen stark declines in recent years, but that hasn't stopped one company there from expanding. Based in Milan, FFG Europe first bought a number of Italian producers and then pushed into Germany, where it’s still on the hunt.

EDM Machining – After micro EDM machining specialist Sarix launched its 5th micro EDM controller generation at EMO 2015 in Milan, the company showcased its SX100 micro EDM milling, drilling machine at the recently held AMB in Stuttgart.

General Manager Bob Murray also said he expects record sales this year.
