Italy — With its “Tool of the Year” competition 2021, Anca is giving cutting machine operators the chance to win large prize money and worldwide recognition. Together with tool manufacturers and other experts, the tool grinding machine manufacturer is celebrating the achievements of the entire machining industry.

Germany — Already in 2019, on the occasion of the EMO exhibition, Lach Diamant wrote „the trend in milling is towards Monoblock“ — or, in other words, to “renounce“ profitably the use of cartridge milling cutters. The PCD-Monoblock is, in direct comparison with cartridge milling cutters, immediately ready for use — without time-consuming adjustment of the cutting edges needed.

Germany — By optimising a roughing process when recessing 42CrMo4 steel (1.7225) hardened to 1,000 N/mm2, German subcontractor Jörg Bamann CNC Dreh- und Frästeile in Geretsried has been able to save just under 100 minutes per component thanks to the use of DAH high-feed milling cutters manufactured by Tübingen-based Paul Horn.

Germany — EMO 2019 in Hanover was the last time Lach Diamant could present their entire tool range for the automobile and accessories industry, aircraft and wind power industries, for tool and mould making, machine manufacturers, composite industry as well as for medical technology. The company had great plans — but then came the Corona pandemic paralyzing the economy.

Two years after the last trade fair for the metalworking industry took place, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Metav 2022 is set to open its doors from 8 to 11 March in Düsseldorf.

Italy — The Italian Machine Tools, Robots and Automation Systems Manufacturers’ Association (Ucimu-Sistemi per Produrre), in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency ICE, organized a press conference for the Chinese market.

UK — To upgrade its plant and instigate 24-hour production later this year, High Wycombe-based subcontract machining firm EV Engineering has bought four Japanese-built Okuma mill-turn centres from sole UK agent NCMT and a pair of machining centres from another supplier.

Italy — During the first quarter of 2021, demand for Italian machine tools grew again. The Ucimu index processed by the Economic Studies Department & Business Culture of the Association showed a 48.6 % upturn in the first three months of the year compared with the same period of 2020. The absolute value of the index was 169 (base 100 in 2015).

Italy — The Metal Forming Committee — comprising almost thirty enterprises that are members of Ucimu and work in the metal forming and metalworking field — expressed its unanimous decision to take part in the next EMO Milano 2021.

Germany — Cimt 2021 opened its doors in Beijing from April 12 to 17. In the largest sales market for the German industry, 150 companies are presenting machine tools, cutting tools, clamping technology, measuring technology, mould and die as well as NC controls and software.
