From design to machine: Modular CAM software ensures subcontractor's flexibility

UK — Birmingham based Cutting Blue was founded four years ago by Piotr Parobczy as a consultancy imbued in the programming of complex high-value components for the F1 and motorsport industries. However, in the last 18 months, the small subcontract company has commenced manufacturing, purchasing machine tools from Doosan and DMG Mori that are supported by the CAM software from Open Mind Technologies.

New milling cutters reduce machining times

Trochoidal machining requires both dynamics and stability because the tool moves with very high feed rates within the material and then at the maximum feed rate outside the material. How to mill a panther

The system supplier for machine tools, Haimer, is a premium partner and supporter of the Augsburger Panther hockey team in the German Hockey League. The company took this opportunity to demonstrate the performance capabilities of its tools and tool holders by creating a model panther. The CAM specialists at Open Mind took on the challenging programming task using their Hypermill software.
