Germany — At Franken Guss, individualized sword grips for fencing were manufactured additively using selective laser melting. Since this process enables the production of very small batch sizes, additive manufacturing allows the company to open up new industries.

Germany — Specialist in CAD/CAM and MES process solutions in model, die and mould manufacturing, Tebis, has broken new ground with the launch of its complete CAD/CAM system 4.1.

UK — The subcontract manufacturer JWA Tooling opted for workholding technology from Hainbuch to ensure quick tool changes on several different turning centres, thus increasing overall productivity.

India — Technology company HCL announced a new wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) module for the CAM Works suite of CAD/CAM software.

Germany — Tebis, a specialist in CAD/CAM and MES process solutions in model, die and mold manufacturing, is participating as a digital exhibitor in this year's Metav. The trade show will be conducted as a 3D event from 23 to 26 March.

UK — Machine tool solution provider, Engineering Technology Group (ETG), has become a technical partner of the Winbro Technologies Group. With this partnership, the UK company can now offer laser machining as well.

Germany — Bavarian contract manufacturer BAM is going all in with digital processes in an effort to further reduce costs and project times in contract manufacturing. With the support of Open Mind, the company has used Hypermill Automation Center to streamline and markedly speed up CAM programming.

Germany — Well over 650 viewers took part in Arburg’s third Internet TV broadcast on 25 March 2021. The company's experts Lukas Pawelczyk and Martin Neff shared their combined expertise in additive manufacturing and showcased a host of application examples. The interactive programme also featured a live link-up between the TV studio and the Arburg Prototyping Center in Lossburg.

Germany — 3D printing of metals is currently changing many production processes in the industry. As a supplement and alternative to foundry technology, the 3DMP process offers an opportunity to manufacture even large workpieces economically in small numbers. This does not necessarily have to be seen as a competition — an additive manufacturing machine could be an ideal expansion of the manufacturing processes offered by foundries.
