VBN Components’ 3D printing is fit for a king

Swedish VBN Components 3D prints wear-resistant alloys with the brand name Vibenite, which noticeably enhance the lifetime and performance of components. In 2018 the company won the ”Innovation of the Year” award in its county for “The World’s Hardest Steel” and clients can be found globally. Until now, VBN’s products have only been used in industrial applications, but now they have also come into royal use.

3D printing for space: assemblies withstand extreme conditions

3D printed components were manufactured by CRP USA for the Portland State Aerospace Society’s Oresat0 Cube Sat, Oregon’s first satellite, deployed into low earth orbit in March 2021 and successfully operating since then. A turnstile antenna assembly, a star tracker camera lens and sensor assembly, and a battery assembly were all 3D printed out of Windform LX 3.0.
