Tooling Manufacturer invests in Mitsubishi EDM from ETG

When long-established cutting tool manufacturer AA Tools was acquired by new owners in 2014, the objective was to modernise the shop floor equipment with the very latest CNC machine tool technology. For the bespoke cutting tool manufacturer, the acquisition trail included a CNC tool and cutter grinder, a 4th-axis machining centre, a live tooling turning centre, an EDM drilling machine and a Mitsubishi MV1200R wire EDM machine from the Engineering Technology Group (ETG).

Sharpening specialist to launch world premiers at EMO Milano

From 4th to 9th October, Biberach-based Vollmer will be be presenting its sharpening machines and digital solutions for efficient and networked machining of cutting tools. One of the highlights on show will be the new VHybrid 260 grinding and erosion machine as well as the VLaser 370 laser machine. There will also be a world premiere in the form of a new tool grinding machine.

Steady rests keep machining processes precise

At this year’s EMO international machine tool exhibition, held in Milan on the 4 to 9 October 2021, on Stand F18 in Hall 3 Fial will launch a number of new ranges of steady rests, including Self-Centring steady rests; the Coolant Series with feed for the steady rest’s rollers; a Mini Series for multi axis lathes and mill-turn centres and a range of high accuracy steady rests for grinding applications.

Premieres for productive tool grinding and automated manufacturing

Germany — In the cutting tool industry, the trend is moving away from standard tools towards more complex geometries that are specially adapted to the specific application.
