At Rapid.Tech 2023 in Erfurt, AIM3D, supplier of 3D printers using the CEM (Composite Extrusion Modelling) process, will be putting the Exam 255 3D printer centre stage at the trade fair. The Exam 255 system combines high precision 3D components with high build speeds for additive manufacturing.

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, allows Seco Tools to create products that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to manufacture. The advantages include shorter lead times, improved tool life and increased sustainability.

The provider of plastic machining and fabrication services, IPFL, announced the 20th anniversary of its 3D printing division. Over the past two decades, the company has become renowned for its advanced printing capabilities, offering Polyjet, SLS, MJF, FDM, SLA, and micro 3D printing.

The 28th Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing is being awaited with great anticipation. The trade fair for injection moulding, which also serves as a technology and industry barometer for extrusion technology, thermoforming and 3D printing, will offer information on new solutions and provide fresh impetus for circular economy in Friedrichshafen from the 17th through the 21st of October, 2023.

3D printed components were manufactured by CRP USA for the Portland State Aerospace Society’s Oresat0 Cube Sat, Oregon’s first satellite, deployed into low earth orbit in March 2021 and successfully operating since then. A turnstile antenna assembly, a star tracker camera lens and sensor assembly, and a battery assembly were all 3D printed out of Windform LX 3.0.

Software company Sigma Additive Solutions will partner with Dye Mansion, a provider of connected and integrated post-processing solutions for industrial polymer 3D-printing, to add an integrated hardware/software solution option that offers extra quality assurance for Dye Mansion’s post-processing solutions: DM60, Powershot Performance and Powerfuse S.

Mapping a 3D printing process as a continuous digital process chain from design to manufacturing and post-processing is the logical consequence of a digital-additive manufacturing strategy. On behalf of AIM3D, the development service provider Naddcon has now integrated the ExAM 255 3D printer into the Siemens NX environment.

Industrial 3D printing expert Titomic has further expanded into Europe by entering into a reseller agreement with Multistation, located in Paris, France.

In micro-injection moulding, the size of the production is increasing as we move forward in time and now often runs into millions. Scientists at the Kunststoff-Zentrum (Plastics Centre) in Leipzig/Germany (KUZ), together with Hasco, developed a technology for economical production on conventional injection moulding machines.

After a year-long planning and development phase, the “Faberlab powered by Arburg” Additive Center will be opened on March 2, 2023 at Faberlab, service provider for industrial Additive Manufacturing. In future, the two companies will collaborate at Faberlab’s Origgio location in Greater Milan, Italy.
