Newship Group expands its European packaging portfolio with the acquisition of Coda Plastics, strengthening its capabilities across rigid plastics, glass and distribution.

Rigid plastic packaging manufacturer Coda Plastics has been acquired by Newship Group, a privately owned UK group with operations across Europe. The deal marks a significant step for the UK-based plastics manufacturer and is expected to create new opportunities for growth, collaboration and innovation.

Newship’s portfolio already includes several established packaging specialists: Pont Europe, a major distributor of rigid packaging, and Beatson Clark, a long-standing UK manufacturer of glass containers. With Coda Plastics joining the group, Newship will offer a combined packaging proposition spanning glass, plastics and distribution across Europe.

Coda Plastics will continue to operate as an independent business under its existing management team and directors. The company said customers can expect business as usual, with the same levels of service, reliability and flexibility.

Newship’s resources and long-term investment approach are expected to support Coda Plastics in expanding its capabilities, driving innovation and strengthening its sustainability initiatives.
