Hymer Steigtechnik has expanded its proven online configurator and now offers even more components for customised and safe access-technology solutions. The new equipment options include self-closing swing doors for particularly short platforms, access barriers with toe boards and guide rollers, as well as additional braking systems for mobile platform stairs.

The online configurator enables customers from the skilled trades, industry, and logistics to configure access-ladder systems, stairs, maintenance platforms, and platforms individually and efficiently. Using the Hymer modular system, they select a basic solution that can then be flexibly adapted in the configurator to project-specific requirements. After entering all parameters, the system generates a real-time 3D model — allowing an immediate visual check and precise implementation.

The swing doors provide a space-saving, safe access solution, especially on short platforms. The new access barriers increase protection through sturdy toe boards. The online configurator now also features context-based help texts for stairs, platforms, and maintenance platforms. By clicking an info icon on the right side, users can display background information for each configuration step — whether concerning standards, technical possibilities, or practical design variants. Users receive direct guidance, for example, that a single flight of stairs may not exceed a maximum vertical height of 4 metres according to standards, which incline angles are permitted, or how to calculate the vertical height. This not only makes the configuration more understandable, but also ensures it is transparently aligned with applicable standards.

“With the new possibilities in our online configurator, access-technology solutions can now be adapted even better to specific requirements and safety regulations,” explains Christian Frei, Sales Manager Access Technology at Hymer-Leichtmetallbau.

In addition, the range of braking systems for mobile platform stairs has been expanded. Users can now choose between single brakes, central brakes with foot pedal or lever, and a battery-powered central brake. The wheel diameter and the colour variant of the chassis (signal red or aluminium) can also be adapted as needed. This allows the mobility and stability of each access-technology solution to be precisely tailored to its respective application area. “Especially with mobile solutions, every adjustment option matters,” says Christian Frei, drawing on numerous customer projects. “More choice in practice also means more safety and comfort for our customers.”

Alongside the expansion of the configurator, Hymer Steigtechnik has also relaunched its website. The new web presence features a clear structure, intuitive navigation, and improved access to all digital services — above all to the central planning tool: the online configurator.

“Our new website makes it easier than ever to find the right solutions — from technical information all the way to configuring customised access technology,” summarises Christian Frei.
