Leading plastics event Interplas returns for biggest show in over 20 years

The UK's No.1 plastics event, Interplas is set to take place at the end of the month, on 26-28th September at the NEC, Birmingham. This year’s event, a celebration of 75 years of Interplas and its forerunners, will see over 530 exhibitors present on the show floor, alongside a host of conference sessions and features designed to elevate UK manufacturing’s knowledge of the latest plastics technology from around the globe.

Interplas, the UK's established plastics event, is scheduled to occur from September 26-28 at the NEC in Birmingham. This year marks the 75th anniversary of Interplas and its predecessors, featuring over 530 exhibitors. The event aims to update the UK manufacturing sector on the latest advancements in plastics technology globally.

Exhibitors at the event include a wide range of companies such as Arburg, Engel, Krauss Maffei, Wittmann Battenfeld, and many others, covering various aspects of the plastics industry.

Duncan Wood, CEO of Rapid News Group, the event's organiser, stated that Interplas 2023 is anticipated to be a significant edition given its history, with a notable increase in the number of exhibitors compared to previous years. Ian Taylor, Managing Director for Conventions & Exhibitions at the NEC Group, mentioned that the event has a longstanding relationship with the NEC, dating back to 1976.

Visitors to the event can expect several features, including:

• The Interplas Insights Conference: A conference agenda focusing on themes and challenges in the plastics industry, such as recycling, digitalization, and regulation, among others.

• The Introducing Stage: A stage for presentations on the latest innovations in the plastics sector.

• Knowledge Pavilion: A space for visitors to gather information and network with influential organizations in the UK plastics industry, including Recoup, PMMDA, and IOM3.

To commemorate the event's 75th anniversary, the organisers have invited nominations for individuals who have significantly contributed to the UK plastics industry. These individuals will be honored at Interplas 2023.

This year's event will also introduce a new digital platform that aims to enhance the event experience for both exhibitors and visitors. The platform will allow for efficient time planning and foster community engagement.

Philip Law, Director-General of the British Plastics Federation, mentioned that Interplas serves as a comprehensive platform for the UK plastics industry and encouraged participation.

Companies such as JLR, McAlpine & Co, Recipharm, L’Oréal, Dyson, and many more have already registered for the upcoming event.
