At AMB 2026, Bimatec Soraluce will present a machine from its Productivity Line and demonstrate how automation and multitasking solutions can be used to implement customer-specific projects.

The machine manufacturer’s portfolio ranges from standard machines to highly customised, automated production systems. It includes milling, turning and grinding machines for machining large components, as well as technologies designed to improve process efficiency.

The Multitasking Line developed by Bimatec Soraluce reflects demand for machine concepts that provide greater machining flexibility. Technically complex workpieces with tight tolerances often require several processes, including turning, milling, drilling and tapping. Combining these operations in one machine can improve machining accuracy, shorten setup times and reduce space and staffing requirements. It can also lower the number of tools, clamping devices and fixtures required.

One feature of the Soraluce TRM series multitasking bed-type milling machine is its continuously swivelling T-design milling head, with a 37 kW drive and a maximum spindle speed of 6,000 rpm. The T function converts the milling head into a multifunctional unit for milling, turning and grinding using the same tool interface. This allows milling and turning tools to be changed automatically using a standard tool changer. During turning operations, the main spindle is clamped to eliminate play and increase stability.

Intelligent automation solutions

In response to growing demand for efficient and flexible production of complex components with multiple reference points, Soraluce has developed automated solutions intended to increase productivity and reduce non-productive time throughout the manufacturing process.

The systems can accommodate large components and be configured for different component types and batch sizes. The portfolio ranges from individual machines with integrated pallet changers to flexible manufacturing cells coordinated by industrial computers.

Soraluce’s pallet systems feature modular configurations that can be adapted to specific applications. They are designed to streamline workflows, reduce setup times and increase overall system productivity.

To further increase production flexibility, Soraluce has also implemented central tool-storage systems that are fully integrated with its proprietary tool-management software. The connected system allows tools to be shared between machines, reducing selection errors, duplicate tool inventories and the space required for storage.

Tool automation is controlled using data on production orders, delivery schedules and tool availability. This supports just-in-time manufacturing and coordinates tool provision with current production requirements.

The automation environment is managed by the Soraluce Control System, a software platform developed by the Soraluce Software Factory. Based on a job-list concept, the platform integrates the components of the manufacturing process, including machines, workpieces, pallets, tools, CNC programs, fixtures and operations. It controls the complete machining cell while providing process traceability and transparency across the production system.
