Management change Timo Wiegand takes the helm at Saint-Gobain as new General Manager
Timo Wiegand has been appointed General Manager Central Europe for Saint-Gobain Abrasives with effect from 1 September. He succeeds Christian Bako, who is taking on new responsibilities within the Saint-Gobain Group.
Timo Wiegand is no stranger to Saint-Gobain Abrasives: From 2014 to 2017, he worked for the company as manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since then, he has held various positions within the Saint-Gobain Group, the last two years as HR Director for Saint-Gobain Germany and Austria.
Wiegand, who holds a degree in business administration, is looking forward to his new role: “It's a great feeling to be able to return to my former workplace and continue the excellent work done by Christian Bako,” says Timo Wiegand. “Our customers and partners will continue to benefit from our consistent service orientation and be able to rely on high-performance grinding and tooling solutions. I look forward to working and sharing ideas with our well-rehearsed teams. Together with our customers, we will focus on growth opportunities and analyse how to exploit these new potentials”.
