The parent company said he acquisition will combine the Finnish company’s strong customer relations, service capabilities and broad experience in the local market with the global resources and technologies of Hexagon Metrology, a company that consists of nearly a dozen established brands of coordinate measuring machines, portable measuring systems, handheld instruments and metrology software. Based in Vantaa near Helsinki, Visava is strategically situated for serving the growing economies in the Baltic states as well as Finland.

All former employees of Visava are joining Hexagon Metrology’s team in northern Europe, Hexagon said.

“We are excited about the potential which is created by our new subsidiary in Finland,” said Pelle Ohlsson, general manager of Hexagon Metrology Nordic. “It is part of our global growth strategy to acquire key distribution partners to be closer to our customers.”

The new commercial operation in Finland will open a Hexagon Metrology demonstration centre to present a wide range of the company’s measuring products. In addition, it will install and provide training and technical assistance for Hexagon Metrology products sold in Finland.
