Investment in fully electric injection moulding machines
In a move designed to reduce energy requirements, the company invests primarily in fully electric injection moulding machines, among other things. “The environment and energy efficiency have been at the very heart of our concerns for more than ten years,” Roullet-Revol said. “To increase energy efficiency in injection moulding production, the focus has been to use hybrid and electric injection moulding machines to reduce heat losses through insulation, to implement energy-efficient cooling systems or to reuse the waste heat from the compressors and processes.”
According to Roullet-Revol, one result of these energy efficiency activities is ARaymond Germany’s energy management system certification according to ISO 50 001. “This contributes towards making energy requirements systematically and continuously more transparent and enables energy costs to be assigned to the appropriate users for the purpose of optimisation.”
“Looking for energy saving in our processes is essential but not enough,” he added. “We also implement smart buildings, especially with the 12 new erected buildings around the world winning LEED certifications.” Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a North American rating system for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings.
“The Arburg energy efficiency award 2015 represents an important and encouraging recognition of our consistent implementation of energy efficiency targets,” Roullet-Revol concluded.
