EDM specialist bes Erodiermaschinen from Fluorn-Winzeln is presenting its own drill EDM machines at the AMB in Stuttgart for the first time under the uniform machine designation edm-Tornado.
In many cases, drilling-eroding on the bes machines achieves the same productivity as known deep-hole drilling processes. One advantage of EDM drilling, however, is the absence of burrs, for example in transverse drilling.

This year bes Erodiermaschinen will again be at AMB. Managing Director Markus Langenbacher says: “A lot has changed at bes since the last trade fair in 2018. We have developed the slogan ’hard materials — highly productive — 1,000xØ‘ for our drilling EDM machines and have also introduced our own machine brands,” explains the bes Managing Director. At the trade fair, the drilling EDMs can be seen on the stand under the uniform machine brand edm-Tornado. The name refers to the rotating electrode and the high working speed. The machines are available in sizes S, M, L and XL for a wide range of drilling applications with a large number of options.
The machines from Fluorn-Winzeln can do much more than basic EDM drilling: both water- and oil-flushed machines are available as well. According to the supplier, the number of possible machine axes and thus the degrees of freedom for machining is unsurpassed on the market. In addition, the machines are now available with automation interfaces for interlinking with robot cells, for example.
