Priamus Cavity pressure sensor fits tight spaces, has secure shielding

Small dimensions allow the 6008-A cavity pressure sensor to find use in moulds with very limited space, according to supplier Priamus Systems Technology AG.

The manufacturer pointed to two advantages of the device: The cable can be replaced if damaged, and it is equipped with a secure shielding. This means interference signals from the mould based on a missing ground closure are excluded, the company explained.

The piezoelectric sensor can be connected to a Priamus charge amplifier or to similar devices from other suppliers, the company said.

The sensor front has a diameter of 1 mm and the supplier said it can be adapted to the cavity. The unit is said to have a measuring range of up to 2,000 bar and is suitable for all melt temperatures in injection moulding. It can be used for improving, monitoring the quality of and controlling the injection process.

Sensors and connecting cables can be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath (aqueous tenside solution) together with mould inserts if a sealed protecting cap is used, the company said.

The pressure sensors are delivered with a mounting nut (standard-mounting) as standard. They can also be installed with a distance sleeve, the company said.
