At the IAA, Kirchhoff Automotive presented a hybrid battery housing in lightweight design for pure electric vehicles.
At the IAA Kirchhoff Automotive presented a hybrid, crash-resistant battery housing made of steel/aluminium, which the supplier has developed and designed for pure electric vehicles. According to the supplier, the system has special properties for this specific application: In addition to the integrated crash safety and underbody protection, these include a flat design, an integrated cooling system, electromagnetic compatibility as well as impermeability and corrosion protection. Due to its scalability, the battery housing can also be used in various vehicle variants and derivatives.
The company also presented another lightweight solution at the IAA: a weight-optimized aluminium subframe for the series production of assembly components.
