With rising cost pressure in tool manufacturing, Anca is positioning productivity as a measurable service. Its new Performance+ programme combines expert process analysis, software optimisation, selected upgrades and training, with the company guaranteeing at least a 10 percent reduction in grinding cycle times when its recommendations are implemented.

Anca CNC Machines has introduced Performance+, a premium productivity programme for cutting tool manufacturers. The company says the expert-led package is designed to reduce grinding cycle times, increase throughput and maintain or improve tool quality.

According to Anca, customers are guaranteed a minimum 10 percent cycle time reduction when the company’s recommendations are implemented. The launch comes as cutting tool manufacturers face rising input costs, shorter delivery expectations and stronger international competition. Higher carbide prices are also increasing the pressure to recover efficiency gains in production.

The programme starts with an individual assessment of a customer’s manufacturing processes. Anca specialists review setup procedures, cycle time performance and production targets before providing recommendations, including return-on-investment considerations. Implementation support and application training are then used to transfer best-practice grinding methods into daily production.

Performance+ focuses on productivity losses across the grinding process, including software use, machine behaviour, consumables, coolant strategy, grinding wheel selection, process parameters and operator routines. The aim is to turn several smaller improvements into measurable annual productivity gains.

“Performance+ was created for manufacturers who know there’s more productivity in their operation - but need a proven pathway to unlock it,” said Thomson Mathew, Anca Product Manager. “This is a premium consultancy that turns data into practical changes on the machine and on the floor - delivering cycle time reductions up to 40 percent in several cases without compromising tool quality."

The package builds on Anca technologies such as Tool Room RN35 with optimisation software, MTC Motor Temperature Control, Grind Point Velocity and Tool Runout Compensation. Depending on the customer’s requirements, the programme can also include additional software functions, selected hardware upgrades and structured training.

Rather than offering a standardised bundle, Anca configures Performance+ around each manufacturer’s production priorities. The focus is placed on the three tool types that are most relevant to output and profitability. This approach is intended to make the improvements measurable and closely aligned with each customer’s production goals.

According to Anca, production comparisons based on a 16-hour shift and five-day working week have shown between 123 and 659 additional tools per month, depending on tool type. The company also reports monthly time savings of 30 to 80 hours and an estimated value of AUD 3,000 to AUD 8,000 per machine, based on an hourly rate of AUD 100 and before raw material or job-specific factors are included.

While the programme guarantees a minimum 10 percent improvement in cycle time, Anca says higher reductions have already been achieved in selected applications. The company reports reductions of 25 percent with optimisation software, 30 percent with the latest software combined with optimisation and process improvements, and 35 percent with hybrid wheels, optimisation and process refinements.

Manufacturers can request a Performance+ evaluation to check eligibility and model potential savings based on current cycle times, production volumes and priority tool types.
