Events Trade fairs: What is taking place and what is postponed?

Together with MM Maschinenmarkt, we have compiled a list of trade fairs that are still taking place, have been postponed or have been cancelled at the time of writing (10 March 2020).

In the following, you will find a list of different trade fairs centred around the industry and the information whether they are still taking place as planned, have been moved to a different date or are cancelled entirely. JEC World is one of the most important trade fairs for the composites industry and was originally scheduled to take place in Paris from 3 to 5 March. However, the organisers have decided to postpone the fair to 12 to 14 May.

All about automation is a regional trade fair for industrial automation. It was originally planned to take place from 4 to 5 March in Friedrichshafen. The organizer has decided to postpone the fair to July 1 and 2, 2020.

Light + Building is a trade fair for lighting and building technology and was originally scheduled to take place from 8 to 13 March. Due to the increasing popularity of Covid-19, Messe Frankfurt has decided to postpone the fair to September 2020.

Metav is a trade fair for metalworking and manufacturing technology. It should take place from 10 to 13 March in Düsseldorf. However, due to the corona virus, the organiser has postponed the fair to 23 to 26 March 2021.

Logimat is a trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management. It should take place from 10 to 12 March in Stuttgart.

Simodec is a trade fair for machine tools in the turned parts industry. It was originally scheduled to take place from 10 to 13 March in La Roche sur Foron (France), but has now been postponed. A new date has not yet been set.

The international trade fair for the skilled trades, International Craft Fair, deals with the topics of building, renovation and modernisation. It was cancelled by the organiser GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH. The next International Trade Fair will take place from 10 to 14 March 2021.

The Additive Manufacturing Forum is a conference and exhibition for additive manufacturing. The event will take place from 11 to 12 March in Berlin. At the time of writing, the fair is still taking place.

The Diam trade fair for industrial fittings and the DDM trade fair for sealing technology will take place as planned on 11 and 12 March in Leipzig.

The EMV is a trade fair and congress for electromagnetic compatibility. It was originally planned to take place in Cologne from ´17 to 19 March, but was cancelled due to Covid-19.

The IT trade fair Twenty2x was to take place for the first time from 17 to 19 March as the successor to Cebit. Deutsche Messe has now postponed the event to 23 to 25 June.

The Grindtec is a trade fair for grinding technology. It was originally planned to take place from 18 to 21 March in Augsburg. The organisers have now set a new date of 10 to 13 November.

The Wire is a trade fair for wire and cable. It should take place from 30 March to 3 April in Düsseldorf. As the organiser has meanwhile announced, the trade fair will take place from 7 to 11 December 2020.

The Tube is a trade fair for the tube and pipe processing industry. It should take place from 30 March to 3 April in Düsseldorf. As the organiser has meanwhile announced, the fair will take place from 7 to 11 December 2020.

Midest is a trade fair for the industrial supply industry. It was originally scheduled to take place from 31 March to 3 April in Paris and has now been postponed by the organiser to 9 to 12 June.

Medteclive is a trade fair for medical technology. It was originally planned to take place from 31 March to 2 April in Nuremberg. However, the organiser has now decided to postpone the fair to a later date in 2020.

Analytica is a trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis and biotechnology. It was originally scheduled to take place in Munich from March 31 to April 3, but has now been postponed to October 19 to 22.

The Hannover Messe is the largest industrial fair in the world. It was originally scheduled to take place in Hanover from 20 to 24 April. The show will not take place and 2020, the next one is in 2021.

The Mach is a trade fair for machine tools and manufacturing technologies. It has been postponed to 25 -28 January 2021 in Birmingham (United Kingdom).

Paintexpo is a trade fair for industrial painting technology. It was originally planned to take place from 21 to 24 April in Karlsruhe. However, the organiser has decided to postpone the fair to a later date in 2020. A new date has not yet been set.

As you can see, the global outbreak has had quite the effect on the trade fair landscape. This will, most likely, not be the end of cancellations and postponements, so it is important to stay updated.
