SPS IPC Drives 2018: Product innovations at a glance

Version 11.5 of the automation platform VBASE by Visam comes with many new functions in the areas of communication and safety, which will be presented for the first time at SPS IPC Drives 2018. Additional interfaces increase the system's communication and connectivity capabilities for HMI, SCADA and MES applications. New safety features protect the system against unauthorized access. For communication, it is especially the support of new protocols that characterises the update. With MQTT, VBASE now supports one of the most important IOT and M2M protocols for sending messages via the Internet. The protocol offers real-push communication and is scalable to several thousand clients. The MQTT broker can be freely selected in VBASE, and Visam GmbH also offers a cloud service under VBASE.cloud. The integration of OPC UA is another step towards greater vendor independence. The platform-independent protocol promises secure and reliable communication from the sensor to the ERP system. VBASE 11.5 can perform both as an OPC UA server and as a client. Thanks to the additional support of the BACnet protocol, large building automation projects can now be implemented even more easily with VBASE 11.5. Visam will be in Hall 7, Booth 303.
