A provider of advanced simulation software for plastic-injection moulding targeted at mainstream designers, Simpoe said it will continue to sell its existing products—namely, SimpoeWorks MFG and SimpoeWorks Tool—through its authorised-reseller channel. Those products run fully embedded inside SolidWorks, giving SolidWorks Plastics users an opportunity to upgrade to more-in-depth analyses without having to leave the familiar SolidWorks 3D environment.

“We believe SolidWorks customers will benefit from Simpoe technology with products that run fully embedded inside of SolidWorks, making plastics simulation–driven design a reality,” said Bertrand Sicot, CEO of SolidWorks.

Alain Dubois, Simpoe’s CEO and president, expressed his pleasure in the partnership with “one of the major players in the 3D CAD world”, saying that it validates Simpoe’s technology. Added Dubois: “We will leverage our combined strengths to bring plastic-product designers and mould makers fast, accurate and easy-to-use tools to help them optimise the design of their plastic parts and injection moulds.”
