With its new blow-out container, Nonnenmann offers injection moulders and maintenance teams a practical solution for purging temperature-control channels safely and cleanly. The closed system collects residual water or temperature-control oil, reduces aerosols and splash water, and helps protect moulds against corrosion, deposits and unnecessary maintenance.

For a smooth injection moulding process, correct maintenance and care of the moulds are essential. Regular cleaning of the temperature-control channels and mould surfaces, as well as proper mould maintenance, help ensure a high-quality and cycle-stable injection moulding process.

As a supplier of components and solutions for mouldmaking, injection moulding production and maintenance, Nonnenmann, based in Winterbach, Germany, also offers a broad portfolio of options and smart tools for effective and efficient mould maintenance. In June 2026, the company is presenting another new product for the sector: the blow-out container, which expands and further develops its programme for mould care and maintenance.

The blow-out container is offered as a set with matching connection and blow-out components. It is available now and can also be ordered from the online shop. The product is designed for the easy, safe and clean purging of residual water or temperature-control oil from temperature-control channels. This smart everyday aid therefore contributes to mould care, mould value retention and occupational safety in production in a simple and cost-effective way. Residual water in the temperature-control channels can lead to corrosion and deposits, which in turn can negatively affect the temperature-control flow. This impairs temperature-control performance, extends cycle times and causes quality defects in the moulded part.

Consisting of a robust and portable container with carrying handle, the product is used for simple venting and cleaning of temperature-control circuits. With dimensions of 425 mm (L) x 125 mm (W) x 260 mm (H) and a capacity of 12 litres, the blow-out container is ideally designed for daily use in production. The integrated air filter with silencer and a drain tap round off the new product as a well-thought-out and practical solution.

By using the blow-out container, the residual medium from the mould’s temperature-control channels and hoses is easily collected during the blow-out process. The procedure is also safe, as the closed system prevents splashing water and water mist in the ambient air. This increases occupational safety, since aerosols released in the blow-out mist during otherwise open applications are significantly reduced by using the blow-out container (VDI 2047-2).

The product also enables clean working by preventing splashing water on the hall floor, in the injection moulding machine or in the mould cavities. The container can be used flexibly and mobilly in production: as a portable unit, mounted on a hose trolley or integrated into a maintenance workstation. The drain tap also allows the dirty water to be emptied from the container easily and safely.

The investment required for these benefits is low, while ongoing costs are also reduced. For example, cleaning work and cleaning costs caused by leaking residual water or splashing water in conventional procedures without a blow-out container are eliminated. Safe, closed blow-out also reduces the risk of accidents. Regular use and blowing out of the mould after each use reduces maintenance work over the mould’s service life and helps preserve the value of the moulds.

Nonnenmann offers the blow-out container as a set with blow-out gun, connection hoses and standard connection components commonly used in the market. The set is therefore available with suitable couplings for different connection profiles and nominal sizes.
