With “molded”, BASF launches its first web-based simulation app for injection moulded parts. The design for manufacturing app allows to detect errors at early stages of the part development, iterate fast and thereby shorten time to market for BASF customers.

The web services app “molded” is the first app in the new Ultrasim Web Services portfolio which gives access to BASF’s full material and simulation expertise. The app is a fully graphical web tool delivering immediate insights into the mould-filling behavior and allows to understand the interplay between design, material choice and producibility.

Thanks to the easy-to-use app, a wide range of users can benefit from BASF’s simulation expertise for injection moulded parts. Within seconds, the fully graphical web tool gives customers initial feedback into the mold-filling behaviour and allows to understand the interplay between design, material choice and producibility. By helping to detect problems early in the product development phase, the app speeds up the design process and can save costs and time.

The user will also have access to the entire BASF material know-how and expert simulation support, providing material suggestions to mitigate design constraints.
