Business Development Machine tool manufacturer defies the economic crisis

Double-digit growth rates in turnover and order intake are currently rather rare for machine builders. The German company Kern Microtechnik has managed this — despite Corona — also in the years 2020 and 2021.
Simon Eickholt, Managing Director of Kern Microtechnik, can look back on successful years and expects to grow significantly again this year.

Kern Microtechnik, based on the Bavarian edge of the Alps, has been growing steadily for several years. The last two were also successful - despite the crisis. In 2020 and 21, the operating performance even increased by about 15 percent to over € 40 million. The machine builder and parts manufacturer now employs just under 240 people at two locations.
Based on the current figures, managing director Simon Eickholt assumes that 2022 will also be successful for Kern: “We will continue to expand and are very optimistic that we will grow significantly again this year.”
Such a development cannot be taken for granted, even for an innovative company like Kern, Eickholt furthermore makes clear: “The reason for the continuous success is not only found in the technical differentiation of our products, but especially in the know-how and motivation of our employees. As an owner-managed company, we have always worked and thought in the long term and, above all, sustainably. This helps us to better cope with current growth brakes — market uncertainties as well as staff shortages and delivery bottlenecks.”
