EMO 2019 / EDM-Tec High-quality offerings, patented EDM wires for higher cutting speed
Among the exhibits of EDM-Tec at EMO are tubular electrodes, erosion wires, wear parts and filter technology items.
Germany-based EDM-TEC, the expert offering supplies in the field of electrical discharge machining for tool and mould-making since 1999, will present the company’s extensive product range at EMO, which will include tubular electrodes, erosion wires, wear parts and filter technology items.
Precision and high speed are essential for machine operators when it comes to wire erosion. One example that meets this high standard are the patented Leo and Puma coated hybrid wires developed by Opecmade, which allows for very high speed. This is thanks to the special composition of the wire surface that has a higher zinc component than copper. It is manufactured through diffusion annealing to form a so-called cracking surface that has pores. The pores enable the wire to enlarges its surface and thus absorb more cooling water. As a result, a better cooling is attained that enables higher speed and cutting performance. With the right machine settings, up to 40% more cutting speed is achieved here in comparison to blank wire cutting. Moreover, the high quality of these gamma phase wires ensures process security and automatic wire feeding, the company notes. EDM-Tec supplies Leo and Puma wires to many satisfied customers in the European market and it is said that three of the largest WEDM machine manufacturers recommend Opecmade wires, speaking a lot for these wires.
EDM-Tec also offers exclusive on-site resin service, with the support of a technician who empties, cleans and fills the resin cartridge directly at the customer's site for Germany-based customers. This way, the resin system is ready for use again in just about 20 minutes. The resin cartridge is filled exclusively with new disposable quality resin and not regenerated resin, which is therefore environment friendly and no extra shipping charges of the cartridge is incurred. The disposal of the old resin is taken care of by the technician as well.
At EMO, EDM-Tec will be in Hall 13, Booth B98.
