The international fair of machine tools, tools and processing technology Toolex was held simultaneously with the 12th edition of Oilexpo, the trade fair for oils, lubricants and process fluids for the industry. According to the organisers of the fair, the exhibitors rated Toolex as a business success. Over 528 exhibitors from 13 countries visited the show to establish new business relations or maintain existing ones. Nearly 600 brands were represented at Toolex.

Compared to the first edition of Toolex, the number of exhibitors has increased nearly five times and the number of customers more than three times. 50 % of the visitors were executives (presidents and managers of companies). Technologists made up 15 %, including machine operators, software developers, qaulity inspectors and maintenance engineers. This way, Toolex has extended its reach far beyond the borders of Poland and has gained international appeal.

With nearly 500 machines in operation at the fair, visitors could get an in-depth impression of the exhibited technologies and experience it first-hand. Taking the large brand variety into account, this made for a diverse display of technologies.

Aside from the exhibition itself, Toolex offered an attractive programme involving numerous meetings and presentations. One such event was “A Clash of Grinders”, organised by 3M, a grinding competition dedicated to the group of professional grinders. Sparks flew when over 100 grinders clashed.

And it would not be a trade fair without awards: The contest for the Expo Silesia Medal was held again this year. The award honours the best product presented at the fair. Two medals were awarded in the end: One to Seron Kołodziejczyk Sp.j. for fibre optic cutting and one to GF Machining Solutions for DMP Flex 350 metal additive manufacturing solution.

The next Toolex will be held 29 September - 1 October 2020.
