Convenient system integration

Regardless of which company system the user chooses, there are several options for a complete and convenient connection to the machine control, e.g., to a Sinumerik or Simatic system or to higher-level PC systems with installed tool or tool storage management software. The connection of the RFID read/write devices to Profibus, Profinet Ethernet TCP/IP is carried out via the corresponding communication modules. Device models with RS232 interface are also available. The code reading systems come with Profient, Ethernet TCP/IP as well as RS232 interfaces onboard.

For the engineering and the integration into its own systems, Siemens said it offers convenient software modules and function blocks as supplements.

All industries employing machine tools can ultimately benefit from the use of industrial identification systems in the tool management − from the automotive and aviation industries to power and medical engineering.

Thanks to the considerably more efficient handling of the tools and their data, time and costs are saved as well as capital expenditures for unnecessary new acquisitions avoided.
