CG Tech has announced that version 7.3 of its Vericut CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software can help to improve performance and simplify simulation of the CNC programming and machining process.
Introduced at the Mach 2014 show in Birmingham, UK; the software has a user interface with new, multiple-sized icons, as well as several user-selectable colour themes, the company said. Also, every window and icon can be optionally displayed or hidden, CG Tech noted. Moreover, user-configurable “Favourites”, which can consist of commonly used folders and files, can be dragged and dropped into a project and are intended to further simplify setting up a simulation session. The supplier added that the “Edge Display” option analyses models and finds and displays their edges, without affecting simulation speed.
The company explained that during simulation, a user can create a list of “Stop At” events, such as “Collisions”, “Warnings”, “Tool changes”, or “End of each setup”. The user can, interactively, add, move, remove, or temporarily disable the events that pause the simulation, the supplier noted.
It also explained that the version is up to 10 times faster when the NC program moves the simulated machine into potential collision conditions. The enhanced features are said to improve integration with Dassault Systemes Catia, Siemens PLM NX, Delcam PowerMILL, Vero Edgecam and OpenMind hyperMILL, the company noted.
