Anca’s Laser Ultra technology facilitates the large-scale and automated manufacturing of threadmills. Thread milling is a flexible, cost-effective process that uses a CNC machine to produce both internal and external threads in a variety of parts and workpiece materials. It offers advantages such as superior surface finishes, reduced tool inventory costs, increased tool life by 20-40 percent, improved strength and rigidity, especially when cutting hard materials, and the ability to machine threads to full depth with high accuracy.

The Laser Ultra technology can measure and compensate the tool diameter and crest width during the manufacturing process, enhancing precision and productivity. The software offers separate operations for thread grinding and cresting, allowing the selection of roughing and finishing wheels and adjusting the number of passes as needed.

Anca Product Manager, Thomson Mathew, also mentioned the potential of thrilling, a process that combines threading and drilling to eliminate the need for a separate tool, tool-holder, and tool change.
