UK — The three VUE 2021 (Vericut Users’ Exchange) events held during September 2021 attracted over 60 people from British manufacturing and technology companies. The events kicked-off at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, followed by Aerospace Bristol and culminating at the impressive Nikken Innovation Centre Europe in Rotherham.

Germany — On October 15th, the first site-planning phase for AMB 2022 began. The organiser, Messe Stuttgart, already reports over 940 registrations for the event.

To ensure productive machining of stainless steel (Inox), Mapal is launching the Optimill-Tro-Inox — a new, six-fluted solid carbide trochoidal milling cutter.

Italy — Bologna based company Vetimec supplies the international automotive industry and foundries with moulds, including injection moulds. Since die-sinking EDM dominates the production of these moulds, efficiency depends on the production of the graphite electrodes. With the changeover to special milling tools from Hufschmied, Vetimec can now machine graphite 30 percent faster and 20 percent more economically.

The system supplier for machine tools, Haimer, is a premium partner and supporter of the Augsburger Panther hockey team in the German Hockey League. The company took this opportunity to demonstrate the performance capabilities of its tools and tool holders by creating a model panther. The CAM specialists at Open Mind took on the challenging programming task using their Hypermill software.

UK — Jaguar Land Rover has started manufacturing its own press tools in-house for the first time following a £ 1.7 million investment at its Halewood plant. The new facility will now produce the tools required to make body panels for future Jaguar Land Rover models globally.

Germany — Machine engineering company DMG Mori registered high growth rates in the first nine months. The Ebit margin improved to 8.0 percent in the third quarter and free cash flow reached a record level as of September. The company therefore raised its forecasts for 2021 again.

Austria — With the MMV 3200, Emco's customers can define the machine design that suits them best by choosing from the many options. The travelling-column machining centre is available in 3- or 4-axis versions with a B-axis and is designed for heavy chip removal and precision cutting of large and heavy parts.
