Fehlmann at AMB 2026 Precision machining, 5-axis technology and flexible automation

At AMB 2026, Fehlmann will present the automated Picomax 550 Pro with the Erowa Robot Compact 80, the high-precision 5-axis machining center Versa 745, the new generation of the Picomax 56 mill, and the compact and robust Picomax 21-M. The focus is on cost-effective manufacturing solutions for single-part and small-batch production, as well as flexible automation concepts for increased productivity.

A highlight of Fehlmann’a booth at AMB is the 5-axis CNC machine Picomax 550 Pro in combination with the Erowa Robot Compact 80. This compact automation solution enables cost-effective and flexible machining of a wide variety of workpieces with a very small footprint.

The automated pallet handling system allows for the machining of various workpieces and clamping setups with maximum flexibility. Production jobs are controlled and monitored centrally via the Fehlmann Milling Center Manager (MCM).

The Picomax 550 Pro offers Universal, state-of-the-art 5-axis machining, thermal stability, liquid-cooled and dynamic torque drives, as well as the advanced Heidenhain TNC7 CNC control. This makes the machine suitable for both precise single-part production and automated manufacturing processes with high process reliability and productivity.

Versa 745 – High-precision 5-axis machining with maximum dynamics

With Versa 745, Fehlmann presents a high-performance 5-axis machining center designed to meet the most demanding requirements for precision, surface quality, and process reliability.

The thermos-symmetrical machine structure, the gray cast iron construction designed specifically for stability, and the machine concept — which uses only two axes on the tool side in cutting — reduce moving masses and enable high dynamic accuracy combined with high rigidity.

The compact machine design offers optimal accessibility for operators and automation. Thanks to the completely unobstructed right side of the machine, standardized or custom automation solutions can be integrated or retrofitted at any time — from pallet handling systems to complex robotic cells.

Premiere at AMB: The new generation of the Picomax 56 mill

For the first time in Stuttgart, Fehlmann is showcasing the new generation of the Picomax 56 mill. The combination of conventional operation and modern CNC technology makes the machine a Versatile solution for machine shops, training centers, toolmaking, and single-part and small-batch production.

The proven Fehlmann mill functions — featuring three electronic handwheels and integrated software cycles for drilling, threading, and milling operations — enable intuitive operation and simple conventional machining. At the same time, the machine provides a gradual introduction to modern machining technology.

Users can flexibly switch between conventional machining and CNC operation and, depending on the task, work simultaneously with 3-axis or, optionally, 4-axis CNC.

The new generation is based on the modern CNC control platform of the Heidenhain TNC7 family and features numerous technical enhancements. These include increased structural rigidity, an optimized machine design, and tool loading from the front during active machining. These features boost productivity, ease of use, and process reliability in daily operation.

Picomax 21-M – Precision for workshops and training

With the Picomax 21-M, Fehlmann presents a compact and robust drilling and milling machine for workshops, training facilities, and the production of individual parts and small series.

Thanks to a motorized feed table and user-friendly touchscreen operation, machining tasks such as dot patterns, hole patterns, circular pockets, or rectangular pockets can be performed quickly, easily, and precisely. The machine combines classic operation with high accuracy and Versatile applications in daily workshop operations.
