At the Next-Level Molding Days, Shibaura Machine LWB will showcase its latest injection moulding and automation solutions, including the world premiere of an automated Multistation production cell for rubber manufacturing.

Machine manufacturer Shibaura Machine LWB will host the Shibaura Machine LWB | Next-Level Molding Days at its European competence centre in Altdorf near Landshut, Germany, on 28 and 29 October 2026. Under the motto “Turning Technology into Productivity”, the event will address approaches to improving the efficiency, energy performance and long-term viability of injection moulding production. A key focus will be the world premiere of the automated LWB Multistation production cell for rubber manufacturing. The event will also feature horizontal and vertical injection moulding machines for thermoplastics and elastomers, with several systems demonstrated in live operation. Technical presentations, plant tours and discussions with specialists will cover topics including machine availability, productivity, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and long-term investment security.

World premiere: automated LWB Multistation production cell

The Shibaura Machine LWB | Next-Level Molding Days will illustrate how the combination of Shibaura Machine’s more than 76 years of Japanese mechanical engineering expertise and LWB’s 63 years of experience in elastomer technology and vertical injection moulding can be applied in production. A key focus will be the world premiere of the automated LWB Multistation production cell for elastomer processing. The system separates and parallelises the process steps of injection, heating, demoulding and loading, with the aim of reducing downtime. Individual moulds can be changed and selected maintenance work carried out without interrupting the entire production process. Its modular design is intended to accommodate different moulds, materials and batch sizes, providing greater flexibility while supporting higher equipment availability, productivity and process stability.

Broad portfolio of horizontal and vertical injection moulding machines

Shibaura Machine LWB will also present its comprehensive portfolio of injection moulding machines for processing thermoplastics and elastomers. “Our injection moulding machines, whether fully electric or hydraulic, horizontal or vertical, stand for precise processes, high product quality, low energy and operating costs, and high availability. Together with our automation and system solutions, they provide the basis for economical and future-proof production,” says Holzinger.

At the Shibaura Machine LWB | Next-Level Molding Days, rubber and plastics processors and injection moulders will be able to experience the following injection moulding machines and their technologies, functions and equipment options, several of them in live production:

Fully electric horizontal injection moulding machines from the EC-SXIII-B series for processing thermoplastics, with clamping forces from 50 to 350 tonnes

Hydraulic horizontal injection moulding machines from the S-GenXt series for processing thermoplastics, with clamping forces from 100 to 230 tonnes

Hydraulic vertical injection moulding machines in C-frame, O-frame and four-column designs for processing elastomers and thermoplastics, with clamping forces from 50 to 900 tonnes

Service for greater machine availability and customer initiative

Visitors will also be able to find out about Shibaura Machine LWB’s comprehensive service offering covering the entire machine lifecycle. “From installation and commissioning through preventive maintenance, retrofit and modernisation to the rapid supply of original spare parts and practical training, we support our customers in securing the long-term availability of their injection moulding machines and developing their processes economically,” explains Pascal Dorweg, head of international service at Shibaura Machine LWB. Individual modernisation and retrofit measures adapt existing equipment to new production requirements, reduce energy consumption and unlock automation potential.

Ahead of the event, Shibaura Machine LWB is launching an initiative for customers and users: ‘Searching for the oldest LWB injection moulding machine still in production’. Companies can submit details of their vertical injection moulding machine, including its year of manufacture, application and a brief description. The most impressive success stories will be presented during the Shibaura Machine LWB | Next-Level Molding Days. “With this initiative, we want to highlight the exceptional longevity of our injection moulding machines while also recognising our long-standing partnerships with our customers,” says Dorweg.

Shortly before the Shibaura Machine LWB | Next-Level Molding Days, the company will showcase modern solutions for injection moulding, automation and digital quality and process monitoring at Fakuma 2026 in Friedrichshafen from 12 to 16 October (Hall A5, joint stand A5-5217). At the joint stand with Italian company E.P.F. Elettrotecnica S.r.l., Shibaura Machine LWB will present a fully electric EC100SXIII injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 100 tonnes. Operating live, the machine will produce a business card box. A Cartesian linear handling system will perform automated part removal.
